Knock Knock. Who's there? Not me.

That's right.  If you've walked up to my office recently in building 26, you may have noticed that it's, well, empty.

Recently, we decided to leave Seattle to head back to the east coast -- North Carolina, baby!  The house is sold, the bags are packed ... and we're off.

So, what's going on?  Well, I'd like to handle what happened and then, in a future post, describe what I'll be doing now that I'm out here.  Before we moved out west to Sandpoint, we decided that, ultimately, we'd come back to the east coast and, specifically, the North Carolina area.  We left it open, but figured about 5 years or so.

Things in Idaho were way less than ideal from a career standpoint, so we thought at that point to head back east.  Instead, we decided to move further west, to join Microsoft, because it was a kick-butt opportunity.  And I'm glad we did.  As a company, Microsoft rules.

But, the big problem was that all of our family was back east.  Seattle is really expensive, and we were losing incentive to stay with cost of living and location.  With Savannah entering Kindergarten this year, we decided we'd move back around the beginning of the school year.  It's also when Vista RTM's, so the timing worked.

So, we're now out here.  As for the future, I'll leave that for the next post.
